On The Run
Terms of Use
Last updated 27 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Kristoffer Knape, Sweden ("we", "us"), who operates On The Run. By installing or playing the game you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
Play safely, this one matters
On The Run is played outdoors in real places, often while moving quickly and while looking at a phone. You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of everyone around you.
Obey traffic laws. Do not run into roads. Do not trespass on private property, railways, construction sites, or anywhere you are not allowed to be. Do not play in a way that frightens or obstructs members of the public. Do not use a vehicle in a way that breaks the law. Look up from the screen.
We are not responsible for what happens to you or anyone else while you play. Use your judgement, and stop if a situation is not safe.
Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, play with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. The game involves sharing your live location with the other players in your game, so make sure that is something you and they are comfortable with.
Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use On The Run on devices you own, for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source of the app, and you may not use it to build a competing product.
Playing fairly
The game only works if people play honestly. You agree not to:
- Fake, spoof, or otherwise manipulate your location.
- Modify the app, use automated tools, or exploit bugs to gain an advantage.
- Send reveals that are deliberately misleading beyond the rules of the game as written.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players, in the app or in person.
- Upload photos that are illegal, sexual, hateful, or that show identifiable people who have not agreed to be photographed.
- Use the app to track, follow, or approach anyone who has not chosen to play with you.
Content you create
Photos and names you put into a game stay yours. By sending them, you give us permission to store them and to show them to the other players in that game, for as long as we keep that game's record. You confirm that you have the right to share whatever you upload.
We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we may block access for anyone who repeatedly breaks them.
Hosts set the rules of a game
Whoever creates a game chooses the play area, the timings, and which rules are on. Agreeing to play a game means agreeing to that host's settings. We do not referee disputes between players about what happened during a game.
Availability
On The Run depends on your phone, your network, GPS accuracy, and third party services. It will sometimes be unavailable, slow, or wrong about where someone is. We provide the app as it is, without warranty of any kind, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for injury or damage arising from how you or others behave while playing, for lost game data, or for anything caused by a third party service the app relies on. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer under Swedish law.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting the app. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Deleting the app does not automatically erase games you have played in; see the Privacy Policy for how to request erasure.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes go to the Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring them somewhere else.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and continuing to play means you accept the new version.
